Gun Report

Smith & Wesson SW40VE .40 S&W

Read Gun Tests Rating and Recommendation

This attractive pistol would have earned a higher rating if it had a decent trigger pull, but we thought 12 pounds was pushing the outer limits. Still, the two-tone .40 shot well, and we liked its 14+1 capacity. It sat low in the hand, flip was small, and the gripwas comfortable.

Low barrels make for fast-shooting guns. We liked a lot about this DAO Smith pistol, including its price. All our fingers fit the comfortable checkered grip.
