The caliber is common, easily found, and time-proven, though we note that Savage will soon introduce several similar models in .204 Ruger caliber. What’s not to like about this one? We found the Savage Model 12 to be a fine rifle, complete withgood looks, fine accuracy, and an outstanding trigger.

We especially liked the attractive, well-finished and durable laminated stock, and the long pistol-grip area that let us slide our hand down for better trigger control. Checkout the Glock-like trigger.
The bolt was smooth to begin with, as was feeding of rounds from the five-shot blind magazine into the chamber, or from rounds placed loosely into the raceway.
There was a tang safety that worked well, though the AccuTrigger was also a kind of safety. Our B&L 36X rode in Weaver bases and rings.
