The SIGArms P226 is another pistol that is easy to break down. Lock the slide back, rotate the lock, and slide off the top end. This is a linkless design, and there are no other top-end pieces to look after other than barrel, slide, and guide-rod assembly.
The two piece wraparound grip is seamless. This gun is as snag-free and as tight as they come.
The white line inside the rear notch aids rapid sight acquisition.
The P226 was the easiest of our test pistols to field-strip. After locking back the slide, the shooter rotates the breakdown lever above the trigger guard and slides off the top end.
