The clean, classic lines of the Ruger No. 1S are reminiscent of the English Farquharson single shot. This one had decent wood, good workmanship, and shot very well, if low. We ran out of sight adjustment, but that's easy to fix.
Pinching the tab on the lever lets the action block fall, ejects the contents of the chamber, and cocks the hammer hidden inside the action.
Arrow points to a sprung plunger. Push it down and the front-sight insert slides off the base toward the front.
