All of the Sig P239’s controls are located on the left side of the frame, so we don' think it is especially suitable for left-handed shooters.
This pistol field strips easily without tools. To do so, remove the magazine and empty the chamber. Using the slide catch, manually lock the slide open. Rotate the takedown lever, located above the trigger guard on the left side of the frame, downward until it stops. Grasping the slide firmly, depress the slide catch. Then, guide the slide assembly forward off the frame. After slightly compressing the recoil assembly, remove it from the slide. Withdraw the barrel from the slide. Reassemble in reverse order.
