Shooters who were familiar with the 1911 pistol, had no problems finding their way around the Coonan Model B. This magnum pistolís recoil isnít uncontrollable, but kick and muzzle flip is heavy. A optional compensator is available.
The Coonan Model Bís front sight had a white face.
The aperture sights were aligned by centering the front aperture inside the rear aperture.
This model field strips like a standard 1911 pistol. Start by removing the magazine and ensuring the chamber is empty. While depressing the recoil spring plug (in the front bottom of the slide), rotate the barrel bushing (around the front of the barrel) clockwise until it clears the plug. Ease the recoil spring plug out of the bottom front of the slide. Cock the hammer. Retract the slide until its disassembly notch aligns with the rear end of the slide catch, then remove the slide catch from right to left.
