The 617 strongly resembled other Smith & Wesson revolvers. Despite the 10 holes in the cylinder, this gun weighs in like a full-sized target model with click-adjustable sights, rounded case-hardened trigger, target hammer, and full-lug barrel.
The sights allow for the least amount of light between the edges of the front sight and the inside of the rear notch.
