The barrel was topped with a vent rib that was scored laterally with fine lines to diffuse glare. There was a single brass bead at the front. The rib was matched to heavier lines machined into the top of the receiver. The receiver was anodized to match the barrel, but the trigger guard was treated to a shiny hard-enamel finish.
The CZ720 featured dual action bars with a heavy recoil spring surrounding the magazine tube.
The CZ 720 did a good job of insulating the shooter from recoil despite the minimal buttpad. It cycled very quickly, too. The top of the buttpad was smooth and slick to help the shooter mount the shotgun without the rubber surface catching on clothing.
The CZ 720 alloy receiver was anodized, but the trigger guard was treated to a hard-enamel finish. We would have preferred a lighter trigger than the standard 10.5 pounds measured here, but we did like its smooth, round contour and chrome finish.
