The Hogue EX-03 knife is a great field companion. It melds a steel action to a polymer body. Hogue OverMolded stocks begin with a fiberglass-reinforced structure suited specifically to the rifle action. Then a special elastomer is molded to shape and attached both mechanically and chemically to form the finished stock. OverMolded technology from Hogue, Inc. continues to reach beyond rifle stocks and handgun grips. The pebble finish on the knife and stocks is a Hogue trademark.
The $641 Howa Hogue 2N1 Youth Combo from Legacy Sports delivers the widely used Howa M1500 action with two different stocks. Our test shooter stands about 6 feet 1 inch but had little difficulty firing the smaller of the two supplied Hogue stocks. We averaged 1-MOA accuracy for all shots fired. We regularly chronograph without a scope to more safely index our line of fire through the skyscreens.
Swapping Hogue OverMolded stocks on the Howa M1500 action rifle involved little more than turning a couple of screws. The magazine well fit easily into the action and the rest was obvious. Floorplate and action were simple and trouble free. Weather and solvent proof, the Hogue OverMolded stocks will truly fit any sized shooter.
