Firearms Industry to Offer Reward in Jasper, GA Firearms Theft

NEWTOWN, Conn. -- As part of a new national initiative to help curb the criminal acquisition and misuse of firearms, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) announced that it will match any rewards issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in the November 8, 2008, theft of 40 firearms from the Bargain Barn, located at 3622 Camp Road in Jasper, Georgia.

Gander Mountain Reports Third-Quarter Profit

Outdoor retailer Gander Mountain Co. (NASDAQ:GMTN) announced preliminary third-quarter results on Thursday, reporting a profit of $700,000. The St. Paul, Minn.-based company said retail segment income was $3.6 million, compared to a loss of $5.1 million in the third quarter last year. Third-quarter sales increased 4 percent to $270 million, however; same-store sales -- or sales at stores open at least a year -- declined 6.5 percent compared to the same period a year ago.
