Twist rates have accelerated to stabilize longer, high-ballistic-coefficient bullets, while overall tube lengths have shrunk to improve balance and handling, particularly for suppressor-equipped rifles. Carbon-fiber wrapping has become standard practice on premium barrels, shaving weight without sacrificing rigidity and accuracy.
