The 380 ACP is an all-American cartridge developed in 1908 that has become more popular in recent years. Perhaps shooters have tried compact pistols in 9mm Luger and found them to be a bit much for occasional use. The 9mm’s main advantage — power — becomes a disadvantage in lightweight guns, while the 380 ACP’s lower energy level becomes an advantage.
