GunAuction to Watch: Springfield Armory’s Model 1911 GI

0

(GunReports.com) — If you’re looking for a good Cowboy Action “Wild Bunch” pistol or just a durable 45 ACP, Springfield Armory’s Model 1911 GI is worth a look. These are made to look and feel exactly like the classic WWII G.I. Colt 1911s.

The GI-series guns were manufactured from 2004 to 2011 and had 5-inch barrels and internal locking systems. The pistol features original GI-style fixed sights, standard controls, and checkered plastic grips.

Though they lack modern features such as an extended safety, beavertail, and magazine funnel, the GI guns appeal to smart shooters who don’t want sharp edges and who prefer their guns to come out of the box shooting without malfunctions.

“Oregon Guns” is running an auction for Springfield Armory Model 1911 GI Semiauto 45 ACP in excellent condition that looks like its been fired some, but not very much at all. According to the seller’s description, the Parkerized finish is in beautiful condition, and the walnut-checkered diamond grips with “U.S.” across the middle are also in excellent condition.

This pistol comes with a 7-round magazine, hard case, hanging tag, cleaning tools, keys, safety flag, owners manual and associated paperwork.
