USAMU Soldiers Clean Up at Big Matches

Soldiers of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit have scored some major victories recently. The following results are some of their accomplishments:

* Interservice Rifle Championships, Quantico, Va., July 14 to 22. The USAMU Service Rifle Team won the Interservice Rifle Team Championship as well as winning every team match at the competition.

* USA Shooting Shotgun National Championships, Colorado Springs, Colo., July 10 to 21. Olympian Spc. Walton Glenn Eller III won the Gold Medal in the Double Trap National Championship, 2008 Olympian Spc. Jeffrey G. Holguin took the Silver Medal and Sgt. Joshua M. Richmond got the Bronze. 2008 Olympic alternate Sgt. 1st Class Joetta R. Dement received the Silver Medal in the Women’s Trap Championship.

* National Skeet Shooting Association World International Championships, Delaware, Ohio, July 11 to 13. Olympian Pfc. Vincent C. Hancock won the NSSA Skeet World Championship and 2004 Olympian Sgt. 1st Class Shawn C. Dulohery took second place.

* National Pistol Matches, Camp Perry, Ohio, July 10 to 13. The USAMU Service Pistol Team won the National Pistol Team Championship.

* USA Shooting Rifle and Pistol National Championships, Fort Benning, Ga., June 26 to July 5. 2008 Olympian Sgt. 1st Class Daryl L. Szarenski won the Free Pistol National Championship and Sgt. 1st Class Thomas A. Rose won the Standard Pistol National Championship.
