(GunReports.com) — (GunReports.com) — KHAS-TV in Hasting, Nebraska, did follow-up interviews to mark the five year anniversary of Nebraskans’ being allowed to carry concealed handguns.

According to the report, nearly 5 years and more than 15,000 permits later, law agencies have not encountered any issues with concealed weapon permits since the law went into effect in 2007.

At the time, the new law generated a lot of debate and many law enforcement agencies were concerned. But how do they feel nearly five years later?

Grand Island Police Chief Steve Lamken said on Jan 1, 2007, that law-enforcement agencies were on edge.

Now he says the law hasn’t really caused law enforcement any problems.
