Colion Noir belongs to the NRA and owns several guns, including a sleek Glock 17 handgun and a customized AR-15 rifle. But as Noir frequently points out, he does not fit the stereotype of NRA members, or what he calls OFWG: 'Old, fat white guys.'

As a follow-up to the May 2013 test of two AK-47 rifles, the Gun Tests Houston test unit obtained a Century International Arms N-PAP M70 7.62x39mm, $750; and a K-VAR VEPR AK-47 imported by Arsenal.

Are you a teacher? Know one? Live with one? If so, do you endorse what a vice president of the National Education Association said at this year's Netroots Nation conference? Speaking to 3,000 assembled "progressive activists" at the conference, NEA VP Lily Eskelsen Garca, a sixth-grade teacher from Utah, boldly declared a "prophecy" about the eternal destiny of NRA and Second Amendment supporters, and of politicians and lobbyists working to promote gun rights. She said, "I'm not an ordained minister; I'm not a theologian, but these guys are going to hell." The NEA has more than 3 million members.

My WASR-10 does not have the muzzle brake. It won't mount a bayonet since a part of the lug is ground off. The iron sights were a real challenge since, when aligned, there was no white space on either side of the front post. I filed a V groove in the rear sight so I could see and use the sights. Three of us shot 14-inch groups at 50 yards, but it was really a lot of fun to shoot. I have the scope mount and will try shooting with it. Hopefully, I can tighten up the groups with a scope.
