Mossberg introduces the latest addition to the Special Purpose firearms product line – the 500 Rolling Thunder.
The heart of the Rolling Thunder is the venerable 500 pump-action 12-gauge shotgun, which serves as the basic platform for more sporting, home defense, tactical and military shotguns than any other. This newest defense/tactical model features a 23” cylinder bore barrel with a bead brass front sight and a 3” chamber. Key features that set this model apart are a barrel heat-shield and a unique, solid aluminum, ported muzzle stabilizer, which not only reduces recoil and muzzle jump, but comes drilled and tapped to accept the Mossberg Picatinny rail system, thus allowing the operator to attach an assortment of aftermarket lighting or aiming devices.
The Rolling Thunder’s short overall length and light, 6¾ lb. weight combine to make for the kind of easy handling, fast swinging gun needed for defense situations in tight places.
