Sarsilmaz Introduces New SAR9 Compact Pistol

Sarsilmaz’s new SAR9 Compact pistol is built on the same platform as the SAR9, a pistol developed and carried by NATO forces.

Todd Pearson, COO of SAR USA, said, “We listened to shooters when they asked for the SAR9 in a more compact version.”

Chambered in 9mm Luger, the SAR9 Compact is a micro-size handgun with the capacity of a full-size pistol, accepting 15-round magazines, two of which are supplied. Other features of the SAR9 Compact include a hammer-forged barrel with recessed crown, interchangeable backstrap and side plates, black oxide slide. Ten-round magazines are available for capacity-restricted states.

The lightweight polymer-framed striker-fired SAR9 Compact comes with a choice of three insertable back straps to customize fit, a low barrel-axis-to-grip ratio to lessen muzzle climb, and a 20-degree grip angle. A safety trigger provides ignition, and all SAR pistols have a live-round chamber indicator.

Overall Length is 7.2 inches, with a 4.0-inch barrel length. Width is 1.4 inches, height is 5.1 inches, and weight is 26.8 ounces. MSRP for the black finish is $452 and $484 for the stainless version.

SAR USA is the exclusive importer of Sarsilmaz Arms. Founded in 1880 in Istanbul, Turkey, Sarsilmaz produces firearms for 78 nations worldwide.

KelTec Rolls Out P15 Striker-Fire Pistol

KelTec has introduced the 9mm KelTec P15 pistol with a patent-pending 15-round extended magazine.

“KelTec invented subcompact polymer handguns,” said Director of Sales and Marketing Derek Kellgren, “so we wanted our first 9mm striker-fired pistol to be worthy of the company George Kellgren founded 31 years ago.”

The new P15 also offers a fiber-optic front sight, adjustable rear sight, ambidextrous safety and magazine releases, plus a gator-grip texture that improves handling.

“While we pride ourselves on creating firearms that are unlike any others, we also pride ourselves on innovation in production,” said Adrian Kellgren, director of industrial production.

Other significant KelTec pistol innovations included the new P50 pistol and the now retired PF9 and P11 pistols, the P11 being the first subcompact polymer 9mm handgun for concealed carry. Also slated for retirement due to the P15’s release is the P3AT. We reviewed the PF9 most recently in the February 2021 issue. We reviewed the P3AT in the January 2011 issue.

The P15 will be available for handling at the NRA Annual Meeting in Houston May 27-29.
