Federal Ammunition’s new Federal Premium High Over All (HOA) shotshell product line offers competitive shooters extensive plastic shotshell products.

“We are excited to build on the great momentum of this new product line. Competition shooters have been asking for a new competition load from Federal — and we’ve delivered with the best ever,” said Jason Vanderbrink, Federal Ammunition’s President. “Top shoots across the country have been buzzing about our new HOA product and we look forward to rolling it out over the next months leading up to the National Sporting Clays Tournament in Texas.”

Federal Premium High Over All has hard, high-antimony lead payloads and one-piece Podium wads to produce consistent patterns. The solid-brass head and tapered one-piece hull make reloading the shells easier.

The HOA line includes sixteen 12-gauge 23⁄4-inch offerings with a range of payloads, velocity, dram and shot sizes. A line-up of sub-gauge loads is set to follow in 2022

Bushnell Brags about Eyebox in New Hunting Riflescopes

Bushnell has announced the reintroduction of its Elite 4500 lineup of scopes with three new and improved Elite 4500 4X riflescopes.

The Elite 4500 4X comes in three models: 1-4×24 ($230 MSRP), 2.5-10×40 ($270 MSRP, pictured below) and 4-16×50 ($300 MSRP). Each 4500 4X features a fast-focus eyepiece, extend eye relief, capped windage and elevation turrets, and Multi-X reticle.

The Multi-X reticle is paired with a generous eyebox, allowing users to get on target easily.

“When developing the Elite 4500 4X, we not only wanted to deliver amazing image quality, but we also wanted to make sure you can get a sight picture and truly benefit from the improved glass quality,” said Jeremy Boom, product manager for Bushnell Hunt Optics.

The Elite 4500 4X scopes have a lightweight, waterproof-sealed, aircraft-grade aluminum body with an IPX7 rating. Also, each riflescope features Bushnell’s EXO Barrier technology, which bonds to exterior lens surfaces for repelling water, oil, dust and fog.

Meopta Introduces Optika5 2-10×42 PA Riflescope with Side Parallax Adjustment

Glassmaker Meopta Sport Optics has introduced the new Optika5 2-10×42 PA riflescope with side parallax adjustment (PA) from 10 yards to infinity. MSRP: $350.

With the parallax adjustment, this riflescope delivers image focus at close ranges — a feature rimfire and air rifle enthusiasts will appreciate — and gives hunters and target shooters the ability to dial in the focus at longer ranges. It can be used with the Strelok Pro ballistic app and can handle the bi-directional recoil of spring-piston air rifles.

The Optika5 2-10×42 PA features a 1-inch main tube diameter, 5x zoom, zero-reset turrets, and advanced lens coatings, called MeoBright. Also, the MeoDrop hydrophobic lens coating repels water and makes it easy to wipe off grease, skin oils, and dirt.

Capped hunting turrets are made of rubber-armored metal. The rear-facing magnification display allows for easy viewing of the power setting from behind the scope, and the zoom ring comes with a throw lever for quick adjustment of the power setting. Windage and elevation adjustments are ¼ MOA.

The Optika5 series is also available in 2-10×42, 3-15×44, 4-20×44, 4-20×50, and 4-20×50 RD models. Reticles options for the 4-20×50 RD with illuminated red dot in the center are Z-Plus RD or BDC 3 RD. Optika5 riflescopes are backed by Meopta’s Lifetime Transferrable Warranty.

Kimber Joins Micro-9 Handgun Fray with New R7 Mako Pistol

Kimber Mfg.’s new entry into the polymer-framed striker-fired pistol market is the R7 Mako, a micro-compact pistol chambered in 9mm. The R7 Mako’s flat-face Performance Carry Trigger has a factory-set 5.0- to 6.75-pound trigger pull. As far as capacity, the R7 Mako carries 12 rounds in a flush-fit magazine and 14 rounds using an extended magazine.

The R7’s stainless-steel slide wears an FNC finish and covers the barrel hood to add rigidity and prevent debris from entering the pistol through the ejection port, and keep the optic clean. The pistol also features ambidextrous controls for left- and right-handed shooters, and the low-tilt 3.37-inch stainless-steel barrel mitigates recoil.

Topping off the R7 Mako is a set of Tru-Glo Tritium Pro U-notch sights, and the slide on the R7 Mako Optics Ready (OR) model ships with a plate to protect the milled Shield-style footprint. The R7 Mako Optics Installed (OI) model includes a Crimson Trace CTS-1500. Both R7 Mako models ship with a flush-fit 11+1 magazine as well as a 13+1 magazine. In the future, 10+1 and 15+1 magazines will be available.

The Kimber R7 Mako 9mm Luger pistol weighs in at 19.5 ounces, measures 1 inch in width, stands 4.3 inches tall, and is 6.2 inches long overall. MSRP: $799 (OI Model); $599 (OR Model).
