The pocket holster is non-negotiable. Never carry a gun loose in your pocket. A dedicated pocket holster does two critical things:

Covers the trigger guard completely — prevents anything (keys, lint, a finger) from touching the trigger.
Breaks up the gun’s outline — most have a rough or textured exterior (like sticky rubber or hook-and-loop) that grips your pants pocket so the holster stays put when you draw, while the smooth interior lets the gun release cleanly.
