Top 10 High-Capacity 9mm Pistols for 2026

0

It is amazing how many rounds manufacturers are stuffing into pistols these days, seemingly without trying. So the meaning of “high capacity” is always changing and growing. But we’ve gone through our recent winning pistols to find those with high round counts, which we arbitrarily defined as 15 rounds or more in the magazine, to compile our Top 10 High-Capacity 9mm Pistols for 2026.

We made the list based on round counts first, then overall pistol size, so there can be both full-size and compact models below. But where we had to winnow the list, we mostly favored smaller guns and higher round counts. We haven’t tested every pistol on the market, of course, so we’ll be interested to see which one is your favorite 9mm in the comments below.

While not earth shattering, the incremental improvements designed into the Glock 47 make an already very good platform even better. The price is steep. If price doesn’t affect you, then consider this for your top of the heap. Superbly accurate, the Staccato was very tight in the beginning — on purpose, we’re sure. Slide Retraction Effort, 17.2 lbs. Barrel Length, 3.5 in.

The MR920 Elite and its less-expensive sibling, the MR920 tested in the past, are good handguns we have looked at extensively. The new-out-of-the-box Elite features a threaded barrel, lightened slide, and an excellent trigger action. This is a formidable defensive handgun. Magazines, (3) 15 round. Overall Length, 7.4 in. The Springfield Echelon compact checks all of the boxes. The pistol isn’t simply a standard Echelon with a shorter slide and grip; some effort went into restyling the grip frame for a better hand hold. This was a Gun of the Year pick for 2026. We like this optics-ready pistol a great deal. It was not the Best Buy based only on price. This is a great value.
