Two Full-Size 9mms: Browning Hi-Power Loses to Bulky 90-Two
At first glance, we didnt like the Berettas control layout, but our team eventually warmed to the polymer guns overall operation. The Hi-Power seems dated, and wed pass on it.
In our ongoing examination of today's 9mm handguns, we now take a look at two full-size autos. These are a recent entry from Beretta, the 90-Two, and one of the all-time classics, the Browning Hi-Power. While the latter is SA only and the other DA, both are big handguns, and the prospective gun buyer looking for a full-size nine might well want to consider comparing these two.

| The Beretta 90-Two and Browning Hi-Power opened our eyes to two more full-size nines. These are both modern variants on classic guns, the Beretta 92 and the Hi-Power from 1935. Beretta did a better job of upgrading a working gun, we thought, but we believe both factories could have done better. We came to like the big Beretta. It was comfortable, worked well, was accurate enough, and held a whopping 18 rounds fully loaded. The Hi-Power had lots of things we didnt care for, though it was a good-looking and well-made gun. |
